Pageant of the Masters – All The World’s A Stage, Jul 9-Aug 30. Volleyball-AVP Huntington Beach Open, May 1-4. Fans will have the opportunity to experience world-class beach volleyball in a beach-party atmosphere. Every tournament represents a fiercely pitched competitive battle among 150 of the fittest athletes. ”Amateur” volleyball (qualifier) play will be held the first day. Additionally, a special Youth Clinic with Youth Tournament will take place. Memorial Day Ceremony, May 26.
This ceremony honors veterans who have lost their lives in battle and is hosted by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Jewish War Veterans. 4th of July Parade, Jul 4. This is considered to be the largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi, featuring more than 300 entries including bands, floats, celebrities, local dignitaries, equestrians and community groups. Eighth Blackbird, Apr 15. This acclaimed sextet of a flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion are adventurous artists, known for their playing as well as for their underlying sense of fun, always take their audiences to unexpected places. Jack Sheldon California Cool Quartet, Apr 25-26. The Center’s Jazz Club welcomes the return of Jack Sheldon who will perform with his California Cool Quartet, featuring pianist Joe Bagg, Bruce Lett on bass, Dick Weller on drums and, of course, Jack Sheldon on trumpet. Sheldon is considered “one of the Original Lions of the West Coast Sound.”

Dan Zanes, May 31-Jun 1. The former lead singer and songwriter for the rock band, The Del Fuegos, Grammy Award winner Dan Zanes was inspired by the birth of his child to make “21st Century family music” for kids and grown-ups to enjoy together, regardless of one’s age, size or temperament. My Fair Lady, Jun 4-15. Disney’s High School Musical, Jun 5-8, 12-15 and 17-22. High School Musical is a contemporary musical comedy about a popular high school basketball star and a shy, academically gifted newcomer who discover they share a secret passion for singing. When they sign up together to audition for the lead roles in the school musical, it threatens East High’s rigid social order and sends their peers into an uproar. In a desperate effort to maintain the status quo, the “jocks,” the “brainiacs” and even the drama club regulars are soon hatching convoluted plots to separate the pair and keep them offstage. By defying expectations and taking a chance on their dreams, however, the couple inspires other students to go public with some surprising hidden talents of their own.
