Western Days, May 17-18. Temecula’s western roots are revisited with old west skits, high noon shootouts, Native American ceremonial dancers, and a variety of costumed characters. This year the event also features an International Chili Society sanctioned Chili Cook Off on May 18.
Old Town Temecula’s Gun Fighters will host a competition between Southern California gunfight clubs both days. Zany skits of the Old West are performed for prizes and crowd approval. At high noon both days the Temecula Gunfighters treat the crowd to a comical bank robbery featuring dozens of bad guys in a final shoot out with the sheriff and his posse. You can enter a drawing to perform with the gunfighters during the bank robbery. One visitor will be included each day in the robbery. Live western music, a working blacksmith, pony rides, and stagecoach rides are all part of the old west fun. There is a small fee for pony rides and stagecoach rides but entertainment is free.
