Oz With Orchestra, Jan 21-22. While watching this classic movie screened in its entirety, delight in this movie’s songbook performed by the Boise Philharmonic.
Young Frankenstein, Jan 26. A wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks’ classic comedy masterpiece, the story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life.
At Last, Trey McIntyre Project, Feb 11. Experience the beauty of contemporary ballet in innovative and groundbreaking ways.
New Shanghai Circus, Feb 17. Be thoroughly entertained by this highly regarded troupe of acrobats, contortionists, daredevils and jugglers.
Damn Yankees, Mar 13-15. This Tony-award-winning musical is the story of a 1950s’ middle-aged baseball fanatic who trades his soul to the devil for a chance to lead his favorite team in the pennant race against the New York Yankees, only to realize the true worth of the life (and wife) he’s left behind. Filled with hit songs like Whatever Lola Wants and You Gotta Have Heart, this show is a musical comedy home run!
Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles, Mar 23. They look like them and they sound just like them. All the music and vocals are performed totally live. Rain covers The Beatles from the earliest beginnings through the psychedelic ‘60s and their longhaired days. This multi-media, multi-dimensional experience is a fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials from the 1960s.
German Requiem, Mar 24. Accompanied by soprano Mary Wilson and baritone Grant Youngblood, the Boise Philharmonic performs Felix Mendolssohn’s Symphony No. 5, Reformation and Johannes Brahms’ A German Requiem.
Cinderella, Apr 7. The classical fairy tale features a young woman’s journey from servant to princess in a story cherished by adults and children alike. Cinderella combines the magic of fairy godmothers and spells with the true emotions of love and heartache.
