WEST WENDOVER – Events:
Bonneville Speed Week, Aug 18-24. Bonneville Speed Week at Bonneville Salt Flats is where hot rods, roadsters, belly tankers, motorcycles, streamliners and even diesel trucks from all over the world come to attempt a land speed record. Drive just 7 miles outside of Wendover to reach the Salt Flats.

International Motorcycle Speed Trails, Sep 2-8. This is the only Bonneville Racing event that gives prize money; the event is certified by BUB, FIM and AMA. Bonneville Off-Road Event, Sep 5-6. This off-road race takes place in the desert surrounding West Wendover. The Red Garter Hotel & Casino is the start of the race.

Historic Wendover Airfield Fly-In & Air Show, Sep 20. See displays, booths, the gift shop and enjoy barbecues – all while seeing and touching a part of history on a tour through this historic airfield. Aerobatic routines and parachute jumpers offer tremendous entertainment. This air show takes you back to what was and shows you what is evolving in today’s flight world. Location: 345 South Airport Apron. Hours: 8am-5pm.

 

photoBonneville World of Speed, Sep 17-20. The Utah Racing Association hosts this event, where spectators are allowed to walk through the pits, view the vehicles and talk to drivers and crew members as they get ready to race against the clock.
World Finals at Bonneville Speedway, Oct 8-11. The World Finals is the premier event where the top cars in each class from the Bonneville Speed Week return to attempt to set the last land speed record of the year. Event is hosted by The Southern California Timing Association at the Bonneville Salt Flats. For information on West Wendover events contact:
