 Free Concert in Oats Park, Aug 22. The City of Fallon, in cooperation with the Churchill Arts Council, presents a free in-the-park concert by Dave Alvin & The Guilty Men on Friday, directly in front of the Oats Park Art Center.
Get together with friends and family at this premiere performance on the City’s new Centennial Stage. Bring a picnic supper and enjoy an evening of outstanding music under the stars. CAC’s Art Bar, in the Oats Park Art Center, will be open following the performance. Dave Alvin is one of the most prominent musicians in the Roots/Americana music movement. He is known for playing a variety of folk music from soft ballads to out-and-out rockers. He’s released more than a dozen albums and has been critically hailed for braiding together a number of strains of different American music–blues, country, rock ‘n’ roll, pop, folk and R & B. He received a Grammy Award in 2000. Concert time: 7:30pm.
