Polar Plunge, Jan TBA. Come brave the cold with a chilling plunge to remember. No wet suits allowed. Pre-registration recommended. Location: Lake at The Hills Recreation Complex, 2090 W Royal Hunte Dr, Cedar City. All proceeds go to the Special Olympics.

Winter Season at Cedar Breaks National Monument, ongoing. Visit by snowmobile, cross country skis or snowshoes. Stop by the yurt, which serves as a winter ranger station on winter weekends. Be advised that winter season opening and closing, as well as yurt staffing dates, may be earlier or later and are subject to favorable weather conditions.

Cedar Breaks Ranger-Led Snowshoe Walk, every Saturday in Feb and Mar. Meet at the Cedar City Main Street Park pavilion at 9am or in Brian Head at 10am (meeting location will vary in Brian Head). Reservations are required to reserve snowshoes for the walk. This event takes place in good weather.

Relay for Life, Apr 13-14. Teams participate in this 28th annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society to help remember those lost to this disease and celebrate the survivors. Canyonlands Half Marathon and Five-mile Run, Mar 17. The breathtaking course winds alongside the Colorado River through a deep red rock canyon for the first 11 miles and then takes runners to a green, shady finish at Swanny City Park in Downtown Moab.
